Foster Care At Vintage 242
“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless. Plead the case of the widow.” Isaiah 1:17
With a mission centered on pursuing Jesus, discipleship and growth, and loving our neighbor, we partner with God to bring restoration and transformation to our community. As we take seriously the place in which we live, and the foster care crisis, we’re propelled to love children as our neighbors and provide for their needs.
At Vintage 242 Church, we believe that there are at-risk families in our area that desire for their homes to be stable and loving. Yet, under the weight of difficult circumstances, their children are in the custody of the state. With the number of children waiting on the rise, Vintage 242 extended its vision of community transformation in 2014 through partnership with FaithBridge Foster Care Organization. Vintage began a partnership with Winshape Foster Care in 2018.
Using a small group model called “Community of Care,” foster families, foster children, and trained volunteers are surrounded by resources and support, both emotional and spiritual, which serve as a framework for stability as families welcome children into their homes.
With a desire to cultivate hope, families at Vintage 242 are standing in the gap, serving as foster parents, providing respite care, babysitting, helping with transportation and meals, as well as coaching and mentoring children and birth families.
Established in 2016, Fostering Hope represents the foster community of Vintage 242. We believe that we are positioned to be part of the solution to the foster care crisis in and around north Georgia.
As our primary outward expression, our dedication to foster care begins with an unwavering commitment to invest in life-changing relationships with foster children, while supporting at-risk families with time, resources, and help as they work to make the necessary changes needed for their children to return home.
With your help, we have the capacity to make a difference with eternal significance.
Together, we “seek the peace and prosperity of the city, because as it prospers, we too will prosper.” Jeremiah 29:7
One very helpful way to invest into a foster family is by helping provide meals. We love to bless our foster homes and have a freezer available at Vintage for our community to store meals in for our families.
